Nominee's Application Guidelines & Tips

All entries will be evaluated on self-expression, innovative ideas, descriptive summary of nominee's personal journey with music and a well-stated purpose in seeking to impact others through music education. NOTE: All submissions may be used for the Southeastern's Music Education Scholarship future marketing and advertising purposes.

Short Essay Requirements

  • Essays must be titled "My Passion for Music & Others" and describe the nominee's journey in music and their future career goals in music education.
  • Minimum length is 800 words.
  • All essays must be saved as a PDF using the nominee's First and Last names as the file name (example: JohnDoe.pdf).
  • Essays can be uploaded in the online application form.

Video Guidelines

  • All videos must accompany the nominee's essay titled "My Passion for Music & Others".
  • Minimum video length is 2-minutes.
  • All videos must be submitted via YouTube in the Unlisted Privacy Setting. For instructions on how to do this, click the button below.

  • Links to the nominee's YouTube video must be provided in the online application form.
  • It is to your advantage that the recording is of excellent technical quality. Please review your recording and be sure it is something you are proud of.
